Kim Kardashian found herself under fire this morning after posting an Instagram ad promoting appetite suppressant lollipops to her 111 million followers, many of which are young women who look up to the media mogul.

Kardashian wrote, “You guys… @flattummyco just dropped a new product. They’re Appetite Suppressant Lollipops and they’re literally unreal.”

Many criticized Kardashian for praising the lollipops, which are supposed to keep you from feeling hungry so you don’t feel the need to eat. According to The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil, said Kardashian was a “terrible and toxic influence to girls” in a tweet that shamed the reality star for promoting such an unhealthy product. However, Jamil was far from the only person who criticized the social media move.

Kardashian has since deleted the post, which is probably a good publicity move on her part. Hopefully she’ll think twice about what she advertises under her name next time — after all, she has plenty of impressionable teens and young who idolize her, some of whom may have an eating disorder or bad body image. Come on, Kim, jump on that body positive train! Thought Catalog Logo Mark
