This Body Positive Activist Recreated Kim K’s Nude Perfume Bottle Pic To Prove All Bodies Are Beautiful

Earlier this week, Kim Kardashian launched her KKW Body perfume, and it got a lot of people talking. Not because of the actual scent, mind you, but because the bottle was sculpted to mimic Kim’s naked body.

Of course, while the bottle generated plenty of buzz, it didn’t receive that much backlash, which body positive activist Carmen Rene pointed out is because Kim’s body is seen, in general, as being “perfect.” Unfortunately, a lot women would be shamed or ridiculed for doing the same thing.

But Carmen believes fiercely in self-love and self-acceptance, and to prove a point, she took photos of herself in the exact same post that Kim Kardashian had for her perfume’s promotional poster.

Carmen wrote in the caption:

“PERFECT: “having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be.” Stop striving to be perfect because guess what, you are there! What a beautiful definition 💕. Today, at this very moment my body is as good as it possibly can be. I can’t change it today, and tomorrow it may be different, it will still be perfect. There is no body better than the next. There is no one body that is “perfect”. There is your body, unique, worthy, desirable and perfect. All body’s are good bodies.”

What can I say? I’m a sucker for anything that promotes body positivity and self-love. We aren’t all going to look like Kim Kardashian West, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t still beautiful. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
