That's right — Instagram is now snitching on the creeps of the world, and we're low key devastated.

Now that the new Snapchat update has betrayed us, we’re all relying on Instagram Stories to relay how awesome our lives are. We’ve traded in our snap streaks for Insta filters and I’m still not completely sure how I feel about that.

Don’t get me wrong — I love Instagram. Some might say I’m completely infatuated with it. But Instagram has always been a little behind Snapchat in some ways, including the fact that it never had a feature to let you know who was screenshotting your Stories — well, at least, not until now.

Instagram’s new update will not only show you who’s been hardcore creeping on your Insta Stories, but it’ll also show you who goes the extra mile to save your updates.

So, there’s upsides and downsides. On one hand, you’ll now know when your crush (or, you know, the super creepy guy you work with) wants to keep one of your thirst traps. On the other hand, you totally can’t secretly collect photos of that hot dude you met at that party that one time, and that’s pretty tragic. But don’t worry, there are still ways to get around it (including using airplane mode or a computer) if you’re really that dedicated to your craft — just don’t tell anyone I told you.

RIP life as we know it. You were good while you lasted. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
