Logan Paul Tried To Make Up For His Controversial Video With A Dead Body By Making Another Video About Suicide
Not everyone is buying Logan's video, that's for sure. But can you blame them? It all seems a little convenient.
Logal Paul made waves earlier this year when he uploaded a tone deaf video of a dead body he found in the Japanese suicide forest where he not only videotaped the body, but also cracked jokes about it. Unsurprisingly, the video wasn’t received well — just about everyone, including the “Cash Me Outside” girl, criticized Paul for the coverage and his confusing, mixed messages about suicide and suicide prevention.
Since then, Logan has apologized, but otherwise he’s been surprisingly under the radar (at least, for a Paul). But three weeks later, Logan decided to break his silence and upload a new video — and, uh, it’s also about suicide.
The video, which centers around suicide awareness, is vastly different from the content Logan usually puts out. There are no jokes, no crazy antics, no pranks. Instead, Logan interviewed suicide survivors and and experts in suicide prevention, taking a step back to listen instead of filling the video with his own thoughts and ideas. However, he does interject now and then with his own voiceovers, including one where he admitted his wrongdoing:
“I think, as a society, as human beings, we just have to be more compassionate. And that includes me too, that’s something I’m learning along this journey.”
Logan made it clear that he walked away from the controversy both changed and enlightened, and that he hoped this could be the beginning of something new:
“It is time to start a new chapter in my life as I continue to educate both myself and others on suicide I am humbled and thankful to say this is just the beginning.”

Do I want to believe Logan? Sure. I’d love if this whole controversy turned into a soul-searching moment for him. But honestly, Logan’s entire brand is basically being tone deaf and offensive — his entire series about Japan, which included the suicide forest video, included him mocking Japanese culture and people. If Logan’s being honest here, it would mean a big shift in his public image, and for him, that might mean losing a chunk of his fanbase.
Maybe it’s time to just take the L, Logan. I know you’re trying to fix whatever you broke, but there’s just some things you can’t bounce back from so easily.
