This Is Why He Never Called You, And Why He Never Will

He doesn’t believe he owes you a damn thing at all.

He’ll fuck you and forget you.

Just like that.

On to the next one.

He lied to get in your head, after that it was simple to get in your bed.

When you first met, the bullshit tumbled effortlessly from his lips. But now, you hear nothing but stone cold silence.

Isn’t it sad how he doesn’t hesitate to undress you with his hands, yet he lacks the guts to pick up the phone and call you. To tell you he’s not interested. Tell you it’s over. Tell you something. Anything.

Because anything would be better than nothing. Anything would be better than an unspoken note that he’s moved on.

He never called you because it was too easy not to, since he lacks a conscience.

He never had any intention of calling you.

Because the truth is, he’s terrified that you won’t like what you see when he removes his mask.

That he won’t be enough for you. For anyone.

He’s so quick to take his clothes off. But struggles to be naked. To expose himself.

Deep down he knows he’s not good enough for you, though he’ll never say it. Because then he can carry on pretending. Ignorance is pure bliss.

All it took was a swift swipe right to find your replacement. And you might wonder if he’s thinking about you at all now – but I promise you he’s not.

Not even for a moment.

He doesn’t think you deserve an explanation.

He doesn’t believe he owes you a damn thing at all.

You won’t hear from him again because he hasn’t yet figured out what it means to be a man.

To have an uncomfortable conversation, to be honest with your intentions or to treat people like human beings with real feelings, for no reason other than it’s the right thing to do.

Remember, only a boy will fuck you and forget you. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
