Okay, Being Single Isn’t THAT Bad
You're not stuck to a life of isolation and despair. You aren't missing out on anything.

Being single has been talked about to death. (Look, I’m doing it right now!) Here, there, wherever you go, someone wants to talk singledom, about the dreaded epidemic that is dying alone and how to avoid it. Or embrace it. Either way, we’re talking about it.
The internet wants to give you tips and tricks to make the best out of it. Family members are always inquiring about your relationship status whenever you visit. Coupled off friends have the PERFECT person to introduce you to.
And that’s all fine and well, but honestly?
Being single is not a big deal.
It’s not an incurable sickness. It’s not a disability stopping you from living a full life. It’s not anything, really. It just means you’re not in a romantic partnership.
So why are we so obsessed?
We’re conditioned to think life is better with another person. And partly, that’s true. Humans are social creatures and we’re much healthier when we have a pack (so to speak) to run with, to laugh with, to love.
But not having one consistent make out buddy is not the end of the world.
Being single can actually be very enjoyable. In life, you’re only guaranteed one companion forever and ever. And that person is you. Really, we’re always single. We just don’t like looking at it that way.
Being single means you’re allowed to put yourself first without hesitation or weird rumblings of guilt. You can figure out what you’re interested in. You can take time discovering new talents and passions.
Being single means you’re much more emotionally and readily available for friends and family. Not having someone in your bed doesn’t mean you don’t have tons of people to love up on.
You’re not stuck to a life of isolation and despair.
You aren’t missing out on anything.
Connection does not require dating someone. Neither does love. Affection exists in so many wonderful arenas in life. You can be just as fulfilled and happy and giddy without a lover.
Being single means anything is possible. The world is your oyster. Everything is at your fingertips. You can go after what you want.
Your relationship status is not a requirement to have fun. You can be single and love the hell out of life.
Seriously, it’s not that big of a deal.
So stop making it one.
