It’s Time For You To Finally Let Go And Live

It's time for you to release the burden of who you used to be and welcome, with open arms, who you are now.

Your time here is valuable. It is limited, yet limitless, at the very same time. While the universe has the power to determine the length of time you spend here, you have the power to determine what you will do with this time. You have the power to decide whether or not you will fearlessly chase your dreams and pursue your desires. You have the power to determine which colors you use as you paint your life in swirls and edges.

Your time should not be spent worrying about everything that could go wrong, or everything that has gone wrong.

It shouldn’t be spent wallowing away in pity or regret, scared of both your past and your present. You have the power to live your life with grace and adventure, and to celebrate the sparkling moments that feel like little infinities.

Your time is too valuable to be wasted. Your time is too precious to be spent at war with yourself.

So it’s time for you to brush yourself off and finally let go of whatever it is that is holding you back. It’s time to let go of whatever it is that makes you feel bad about yourself or about the life you are living.

It’s time for you to stop second guessing all of the words that do or do not escape your lips.
It’s time to acknowledge that your words are strong and powerful, and that your thoughts should be shared with the world. It’s time that you let go of insecurities and speak up for whatever it is that ignites your soul.

It’s time for you to forgive yourself for whatever it is that went wrong in your past.

It’s time to let yourself start again, and to not hold yourself hostage to your past.

It’s time for you to release the burden of who you used to be and welcome, with open arms, who you are now.

It’s time to drop comparisons and let go of your fears of not being not good enough.
It’s time to give in to who you are, rather than constantly trying to be someone else. It’s time for you to see that you have power, just as you come. Just as you are.

It’s time that you stop wasting your energy criticizing the way your stomach rolls gently over your jeans, or the way your hips jut out in angles and edges.
It’s time to remember that life is more than fitting into a smaller or larger pair of jeans. Life is more than a number on a scale or the amount of space your body takes up.

It’s time to remember that life is more than a bad grade or a slip up at work.
It’s more than letting an insult ruin your entire day. It’s more than the little things like the number of likes you get on an Instagram picture, or the number of friends you have on Facebook.

Your time here is valuable. It is limited. So please, don’t waste your time.

Spend your time celebrating all of the wonderful moments in which your smile lights up the room. Spend your time laughing and dreaming, and truly believing in yourself. Spend your time chasing your dreams at full speed rather than relying on a back-up plan.

Your time is limited. So spend your time accepting that you are beautiful. Spend your valuable time loving your body, for all that it is, and for all that it does for you. Spend your time loving your hazel eyes and feeling confident in the cute gap between your teeth. Embrace your flyway hairs and sun-kissed freckly cheeks.

Spend your time with your eyes burning brightly with a passion for life. Remember that life is for living. Life is for going on adventures, both great and small, for the sake of the journey. Life is for knocking down walls and letting people in, and it’s for knocking down barriers blocking you from your dreams. Life is for taking risks even when the odds are not in your favor.

Remember that life is about loving big. It’s about loving other people with your whole heart. It’s about loving yourself with your whole heart.

So what do you want to do with what you were given? Please don’t waste even another precious moment at war with yourself. You’ve been dealt the cards you’ve been dealt. So play them with your heart. Play them with your mind. Play them with all that you’ve got. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
