Time Will Run Out, So Make The Seconds Count

What's vital to remember is that we don't know how much of it we have. We could have countless tomorrow's ahead or just one. If you knew, would you change anything ? Would you do anything differently?

Time is such a crazy, interesting concept. It’s different all over the world, yet we all run our lives on it. Appointments, shifts, when we’re meeting up with someone, it’s all run by time.

What’s vital to remember is that we don’t know how much of it we have. We could have countless tomorrow’s ahead or just one. If you knew, would you change anything? Would you do anything differently?

I always think about what will live on past my death. I want to be remembered for being a nice, sweet woman who made people laugh and made people feel good about themselves. I want to be remembered for being a good daughter, friend, sister, co-worker and whatever else I may be.

If you woke up one morning and were told it was your last full day, how would you chose to live it? I think sometimes people are afraid to say what they need to say or be who they want to be because the likelihood is they will have many more tomorrows and dealing with the aftermath of making those changes is scarier than being who they really want to be. They don’t want to rock the boat, instead they continue being a version of themselves they don’t fully agree with. Or they continue staying quiet when all they really want to do is tell that person ” I love you “, quit the job they hate, start that new hobby that everyone makes fun of them for or chase that dream that everyone says is impossible.

That’s the thing about life though, it’s all about timing. Timing is everything. That’s the thing about YOUR life, it’s yours.

Do with it what you want, be the person you see yourself as, not what others see you as. That’s their perception of you, that doesn’t mean it’s right. The people that matter will be behind you when move forward.

If you woke up one morning and were told it was your last full day, would you let the little mundane frustrations of the day get to you ? Would you take everything so seriously ?

Or would you smile more and realize that in the grand scheme of things, those moments don’t matter. Would you notice how beautiful the trees are in the early morning when the sun is rising upon them? Would you appreciate the brisk smell in the air when Autumn approaches?

Do yourself a favour and take in everything this world has to offer. Turn your bad days into good ones. Without a doubt, if you could go back and re-live what you thought was a bad day and change your outlook , your attitude about it; I’m willing to bet it would turn out to be a pretty good day after all.

If you woke up one morning and were told it was your last full day, would you be happy with the woman or man that you are ?

If the answer is no, take the steps to change that answer. It’s never too late to be the best version of yourself possible. It’s actually extremely easy to be a nice human being. To be a good person. If Ebenezer Scrooge can do it ( well into his elderly years I might add) than so can you.

Tell the people you love, that you love them. Make sure they know it, don’t just assume people know that you care about them. Words are powerful, use them, use them to do good things.

Time is not within our control but, what we do with it, is. Use the time you’re given wisely. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
