This Is Why She Isn’t Coming Back To You

Maybe she thought she needed you at first. That she needed a body to hold at night when it got too dark to see. Or maybe she thought that she needed the reassurance of a hand or a hug. But I can guarantee you, she never needed it. She never needed you.

God & Man

She isn’t coming back to you because she knows her worth. Finally. She knows it. And she won’t ever lose that sense of self ever again.

She knows that no matter how much she loved you, you never reciprocated that type of love. The type of love that she needed and that she deserved. And she knows that no matter how much she begged for you to stay, you still left.

You still left.

She isn’t coming back to you because she gave you everything. She gave you her heart and her body that you took for granted. You didn’t care when her heart heart was bleeding, or when her hurt was aching. You didn’t care when her heart was beating red, or when it was exploding with joy.

She isn’t coming back to you, because all you did was take. And all she did was give.

She knows now, that you were never the one for you. That you were never the one who was going to save herself from self-destruction. She knows now, that all she needed was herself.

She isn’t coming back to you because in her eyes you were a saint, but in your eyes she was a toy.

Now she recognizes the warning signs that she ignored, because she’s the type of person to believe the best in people. She knows that those red flags were never something she would of noticed, until it was over.

She isn’t coming back to you because she doesn’t want mediocre love in her life.

And love of all things, should never be mediocre.

She isn’t coming back to you because you stepped all over her. You took advantage of her kindness and her strength. You sabotaged something that was once beautiful. You sucked out her honey and the glow in her eyes, and you didn’t apologize.

She isn’t coming back to you because she can stand on her own. She can stand on her own two feet without faltering.

She knows that she does not need you.

Maybe she thought she needed you at first. That she needed a body to hold at night when it got too dark to see. Or maybe she thought that she needed the reassurance of a hand or a hug. But I can guarantee you, she never needed it. She never needed you.

She isn’t going to come back to you because she’s happier without you. Happier without the luggage and baggage you brought into her life. Happier without the pounds of insults that you threw on her back. Happier without a boy who liked to call himself a man, but was mistaken.

She’s happier now. She’s stronger now. She’s finally living. Finally breathing. Finally cleansed from your dirt and grime.

She is finally free. Free from your trap and from your tightly clenched fists.  Thought Catalog Logo Mark
