Dear Future Lover, I Am Waiting Patiently For You
What I would give to know you, know your face, know your hands. To feel the electricity between us and know it cannot be anything but the forever kind of love.

Dear Future Lover,
What I would give to hear your voice at the end of a long day, a day that piled disappointments on top of each other, that felt more like years than hours. Your voice like raw honey, dipped in aged wine and made sweeter by the way in which you should to use your words to heal instead of hurt.
What I could give to make friends with all of your fears, let them know I am here to stay. Let them know that they hold no merit, that I am a fighter and I will fight for you always.
What I would give to be the first thought when you rise, the very last words you whisper as you drift off to sleep. The tether that reminds you of your humanness but also of your potential for greatness. What I would give to love you, as you are right now, at this exact place in your life. With all of your flaws, all of your baggage, all of your quirks and intricacies.
What I would give to tell you every day just how much you are loved. Not just by me (though I would love you dearly) but by your family, by your friends. How the universe would be immeasurably different if you did not exist, if you did not wake up every day with the intention to do better than the day before.
What I would give to hear the songs you sing in the shower, to hear you carry the music in your throat with ease. To hear you not taking yourself too seriously.
What I would give to hold your hand. Press my lips to your palms in the evening. Thank you for all you have done today and will do tomorrow. Thank you for the nights where we will both need to be held, where we will both need to step away from anything that is not us.
What I would give to know you, know your face, know your hands. To feel the electricity between us and know it cannot be anything but the forever kind of love.
I am waiting patiently for you.
