You Are A Good Woman, And You Should Stand Tall

Here’s your daily reminder: You are a good woman. And you should be proud of who you are.

I don’t care what the world tells you. I don’t care about all the times you’ve failed, about the relationships behind you, about the moments you didn’t do what you promised or when you fell down and were too afraid to get back up. I don’t care about your past or the woman you’ve been before. I care about who you are now.

And I want you to know something, you are absolutely and always enough.

There will be people who will try to change your mind, who will try to bring you down, who will try to put the blame on your shoulders and make you carry their burdens.

There will be people, both men and women, who will try to make you think you are the problem, who will try to shove their nasty words down your throat, who will try to get you to stare at yourself in the mirror and only see the negative.

What you must do, is smile and love. Keep on smiling and loving, and don’t let them bruise your heart. Keep on being the best woman you can be, a woman who lives selflessly, who is strong, who is honest, who is trustworthy, who is respectable and giving and confident and kind.

You are a good woman. You should stand tall.

Please hold your head high when you know you are doing the right thing. Please keep your eyes focused forward when people try to pull you back. Please keep your sense of self, even when everything is crashing in on you and you’re terrified to take another step.

You are enough. You are more than enough.

You are more than enough for the man that will one day love you. And if he doesn’t treat you like you are, let him go. You are more than enough for the family that you’ve been raised into, or the family you raised. And if they cannot see that, you cannot let them break you down.

You are more than enough for the friends you’ve made that don’t love you like you should. More than enough for people you encounter, for the problems you will face. You are more than enough to get through any tough situation, and to be stronger when you reach the other side.

So whatever you are nervous about, whatever and whoever makes you feel like less than you are, know that you are strong, bold, proud. More than enough. And please never forget that. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
