For All 20-Somethings, It’s Okay To Not Know Who You Are, We’re Still Learning
We are still learning and we have to admit to ourselves that we don’t have all the answers yet.
We have to admit that we still have a lot of things to experience, a lot of people to meet, a lot of doors to open, and most of all, we still have a lot of lessons to learn—this is why we need to know exactly who we are at 20-something.
We all change.
We are all pressured to be successful at a very young age and this pressure doesn’t necessarily come from the people around us, but from ourselves. We are focused on setting ourselves up on a pedestal, forgetting the process of how to get there. We are still learning and we have to admit to ourselves that we don’t have all the answers yet.
We are obsessed with the idea of reaching the finish line as fast as we can that we forget that life isn’t a race, but a marathon—I know that line is overused by thousands of people who want to make sure we all get the point of how life is supposed to be—and yes, we really do have to take life one day at a time.
I am also at fault here. We all are.
We have to remind ourselves that we also need to have fun, that we have to cherish the process. But even though we know, we still force ourselves to become who we want to be as soon as we can.
We have to accept that failure doesn’t make us less human, but more.
We have to learn that saying no doesn’t mean we’re weak, but it only means we’re strong. We have to believe not in mere encouragements, but by allowing ourselves to know that it is us who should believe in ourselves more.
Let us allow ourselves to realize that we are still in the process of knowing who we are—we are still learning.
