GoPro Is Making Drones, Minecraft Is Apparently Bigger Than The Earth, YouTube Is Worth $70 Billion (5/28/15)
GoPro plans to make a drone that can film video from the air (and even for VR). Analysts believe that GoPro can capture 5 to 10% of the market.
Wired published a video explaining just how large the Minecraft world is. Hint: It’s gigantic. Think four billion square kilometers. The earth pales in comparison, coming in at 500 million square kilometers.
Bank Of America evaluated YouTube and determined that the now-Google owned online video player is worth $70 billion. That’s larger than 85% of companies in the S&P 500.

There’s some bad news coming from tankers — according to Bloomberg, “OPEC will have almost half-a-billion barrels of oil in transit to buyers at the start of June, the most this year, while analysts say about 20 million barrels is being stored on ships in another indication the glut has yet to dissipate.” Supply is outstripping demand and it sucks for oil investors.
Google demoed a new feature for Android phones. It revolves around quick notifications and quick search, which they dubbed “Now On Tap”. The app seeks to bring the tech giant back to mobile dominance. This allows Google to access user behavior and habits without being intrusive, under the guise of searching for information.
Avago Technologies is seeking a bid to acquire their rival, Broadcom for $37 billion in cash and stock. If completed, the combined value of the companies will be estimated at $77 billion.
