If you’ve ever cared to listen to Nickelback, you’ll understand just why 99.9% of the world just kinda, totally, hates them a little bit, sort of.

Jesse Carey, RELEVANT podcast editor, and perhaps one of the bravest souls to ever walk the planet, decided to listen to no one but Nickelback and nothing but the ‘back for 168 consecutive hours. Hilarious? Yes. Dangerous? Absolutely.

Carey decided, for his charity:water fundraiser to do something funny — and he came up with the Nickelback Challenge.

This challenge “is the ultimate test of human endurance. I’m willing to put my personal health at risk for the challenge. Obviously, exposure to such a large quantity of Nickelback is very dangerous,” he writes.

“[Doctors] have all said that such an endeavor could result in irreversible damage to my ears, brain, kidneys and soul.”

Luckily, Carey has three great survival hacks at his disposal:

  1. Frequent Stretching
  2. Hydration
  3. Psychotic Breakdown Avoidance

So far Carey’s fundraiser has raised almost $26,000 with 39 days left on the clock. Simply put, that’s amazing. And the donors are nothing short of supportive!
