Holy Shit: Saudi Arabia to Build Mile-High Skyscraper
Wow. According to Gizmodo via The Daily, the Saudis plan on building a skyscraper that will be one mile high. Expected to cost upwards of $30 billion, the tallest-structure-in-the-world-to-be will house a giant hotel, office space and apartments in the Saudi city of Jeddah.

Expected to cost upwards of $30 billion, the tallest-structure-in-the-world-to-be will house a giant hotel, office space and apartments in the Saudi city of Jeddah. It will take a 12-minute elevator ride to ascend to the very top.

The current tallest building in the word is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which reaches 2,700 feet (under half of the proposed Saudi building). But I gotta ask – like, how are they going to clean the windows on that thing? And, what’s next – a space elevator?
