According to such reputable sources as CBS News and the Today Show, videos of girls fighting girls is kind of a thing now. (At least that’s what a few keyword-centric Google searches have led me to believe.) My interest in the topic grew (and almost immediately vanished) after watching this video by Belgium’s Cum Collective, an art group known for its street installations and gallery exhibitions of pornographic imagery, which left me wondering: What are these videos about?

The answer seems pretty clear, girl fights. But, as often is the case, I thought that I might be missing a more grand artistic theme. For example, if you watched this at an art opening, drunk on boxed wine and an assortment of free cheeses, would profound philosophical themes be more evident? Would the obvious social commentary (i.e., America’s obsession with violence! Feminism on the ropes!) bubble to the surface? I’m note sure. It seems like someone threaded together the footage and thought putting a remix of Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name” would seal the deal.
