Two men were arrested in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for mentioning “Nickelback,” a popular Canadian band that is actually quite unpopular in the United States.

Police officers misheard the duo and rushed to interrogate the men.

One of the officers can be heard accusing one of the men saying, “Yeah, a nickel sack for sure.”

But the man filming insists they were talking about Nickelback.

A nickel sack is $5 worth of marijuana. No real dealer actually sells such a miniscule amount.

No charges were made against the two men, but talking about Nickelback was enough to draw attention of the police to them.

An internal investigation regarding the personnel and actions involved is supposedly underway.

“We take this type of thing very seriously and we tell our people all the time to do their job as though someone is always watching, and they are always watching,” said Lt. Stu Miller of the Coeur d’Alene Sheriff’s Department said.

Of course, the names of the two officers have not been released. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
