10 Songs For When You Don’t Know How You’ll Go On After Getting Your Heart Broken

Sometimes, when we got wounded, there’s nothing left for us to bleed and there’s no more pieces left to break but still life goes on.

There are so many songs about heartbreak that talk about how ruined the narrator became after they’ve been broken; some songs point out someone else’s wrongdoing or blame someone else, while some dwell instead on how stuck they are over the mess of a lost love. These songs, however, talk about the same wreckage but still manage to keep composure while sharing the lessons they have learned and how they found the courage to be better than who they were before.

1. “Here’s to The Heartbreaker” by Katy McAllister

Dealing with your false assumption? This song perfectly fits into that situation as it talks about how she thought she saw the signs that the boy was into her, only to realize that she was wrong all along.

2. “Alone Again” by Marie Hines

When your lover has fallen out of love with you and you started to feel alone in their company, this song is the best to verbalize that. The catch is, however, that it doesn’t grieve in a pained way, but rather Hines sounds like she’s contemplating things.

3. “Break Me Open” by Anna Nalick

This song tells the story of how a person could be so fragile when it comes to love and sometimes, when we got wounded, there’s nothing left for us to bleed and there’s no more pieces left to break but still life goes on.

4. ”Eyes On Fire” by Sarah Geronimo

The concept of a failed relationship is not new territory in the songwriting world, and this one talks about letting go with a renewed sense of acceptance.

5. “Bring On The Rain” by Jo Dee Messina

When we’ve been down and rejected one too many times, most of us would surrender and pray to turn the tables around. This song is a bit mind-blowing as it craves for more pain and more hurt, because that anguish might be something to be used as a source of strength someday.

6. “Last Letter” by Katharine Mcphee

This song may sound a bit bitter as she points out some blame to her old lover, but she also admits that this tactic is “in defense of [her] youth” and the rest of the song also sounds as if she has already moved on from the heartbreak.

7. “Hell And Back” by Tonight Alive

This song always reminds me of an expert telling a novice how much he has been down through heartbreaks and now he’s here on top, appearing so much stronger than before.

8. “A Little Bit Stronger” by Sara Evans

Evans doesn’t actually deny the pain which is a brave thing to do. She also is open about the fact that she wants to be okay again, which is always a step in the right direction after a break up.

9. “Fearless” by Colbie Colliat

Just like any other heartbreak song, this one talks about how she feels and how many times she has been on the crying scene. This song also contains courage, and does not surrender in anticipating love no matter how many times she’s been hurt in the past.

10. “Turn The Clock” by Hey Monday
