Despite trending on social media today, Neil Armstrong died just over a year ago — on August 25, 2012. Armstrong was 82. Armstrong’s death likely began trending after I Fucking Love Science posted to mark the one-year anniversary of his death, a tweet that many apparently misread as killing him all over again.
