Flock, the Camera Company That Logs Where Your Car Goes, Will Now Dump Most of That Data After a Week Instead of a Month

Flock, the license-plate camera company whose scans track where cars travel, is shortening how long it keeps that information by default — a change that follows repeated cases of police misusing the data.

Right now, every time your car passes one of Flock’s cameras, that scan sits in a searchable database for a full month. The company just cut its default to a week after cops kept getting caught misusing it.
