Mayor Mamdani’s Wife Wants a Taxpayer-Funded NYPD Detail to Guard Her on a Trip to Syria and Lebanon
The wife of Mayor Mamdani is reportedly seeking an NYPD security detail — paid for by taxpayers — to accompany her on an upcoming trip abroad.
The destinations are Syria and Lebanon, two countries that sit on the State Department’s “Do Not Travel” list, where Americans are warned off because of active danger.
The trip is set to start September 20. According to a source, it isn’t city business: “It’s not doing anything for the city.”
