The clip is silent, just ambient garden noise as he unbolts the “Kids Ride Shotgun” seat, detaches the small handlebars his son gripped on every ride, and packs it all into a gray-and-orange case. At the end, the empty bike sits against a fence under the words “it really is the end of an era.”

The removal caps a weeks-long storyline. The toddler had started asking for his own “baby bike” after seeing other kids ride, and in a late-July negotiation video that pulled in millions of views, Dim and his son “settled” on a 3-month delay, snacks doing the persuading since the boy can’t read yet.
