Brad Pitt’s Daughter Zahara Took Out a Newspaper Ad to Legally Drop the Pitt Name

The notice ran once a week for four weeks straight, on June 16, June 23, June 30, and July 7, in the Los Angeles Daily Journal, and it invited anyone who wanted to oppose the change to file a written objection first.
That’s one of California’s required steps to legally change a name. Court documents obtained by TMZ show Zahara filed her petition back in June, asking to go from Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Marley Jolie. Her hearing is set for September 28, and a judge can sign off if no one objects.
Shiloh published a nearly identical legal notice before officially dropping “Pitt” in 2024. Maddox and Vivienne have also stopped publicly using the name in recent years.
A source close to Brad told TMZ they believe Angelina has driven the rift, calling it “just the latest chapter in the very sad and never-ending campaign to alienate children from their father.” If the judge approves, Zahara will officially become Zahara Marley Jolie.
