Ashley St. Clair Says Elon Musk Texted Her They’d Need Surrogates ‘to Reach Legion-Level Before the Apocalypse’

By

Ashley St. Clair, the writer and former MAGA influencer who has a son with Elon Musk, recounted the texts on the “Question Everything” podcast at a live taping, describing what she says was Musk’s behavior after she became pregnant. She says he told her they’d need surrogates “to reach legion-level before the apocalypse,” and separately pressed her to elect a C-section because he believed it was better for brain size.

She gave birth to their son in September 2024 and publicly named Musk as the father in February 2025. A court-ordered DNA test put the probability at 99.9999 percent, and the two are in a contested custody case in New York. The Wall Street Journal reported on the same “legion-level” message in April 2025 after reviewing their communications.

Musk has called declining birth rates one of the world’s biggest problems for years and has fathered multiple children with several women. St. Clair says that after she became pregnant he grew “weird and controlling,” and that he later DM’d another influencer offering to father her child.

The podcast appearance is part of a broader reinvention. St. Clair, 27, spent nearly a decade as a right-wing operative (Turning Point USA, the Babylon Bee, viral posts attacking migrants and trans people) and has spent recent months apologizing for it on TikTok and in interviews. She says she turned down a $40 million NDA.

She is also suing xAI, Musk’s AI company, over sexualized deepfake images of her generated by Grok and circulated on X. She calls it the first case of its kind and says the company should be held to a product-liability standard. Musk has not publicly denied the texts.
