A Prayer For God To Exceed Your Expectations Before July Ends

As July continues, don’t be afraid to pray boldly. Don’t be afraid to ask him for more peace, more wisdom, more healing, more provision, and more joy than you can imagine. He has always been able to do far beyond what we could ask or think.

God,

I’m not just asking you to meet my expectations this month — I’m asking you to exceed them. To do more than I thought to ask for. To show up in ways I didn’t think to pray for. To answer in ways that are bigger, better, and more aligned than anything I could have planned for myself.

I’ll be honest: my expectations have been small lately. Disappointment has a way of doing that. Of making you pray carefully, hope cautiously, believe just enough to not be devastated if nothing changes. But today I’m asking you to stretch my faith beyond what feels safe to believe for.

Exceed my expectations in my finances. Exceed them in my relationships. Exceed them in my purpose, my peace, my health, my hope. Let July end with me looking back in awe at what you did — not just what I asked for, but what you decided to give me beyond what I even thought to request.

You’ve always been a God who does more than I expected. More than I planned for. More than I thought was possible in my situation. Let July be the month I see that again.
