Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid met at a house party she hosted in Los Angeles in 2013. They got engaged within about 9 months, called it off in late 2015, and reconciled the following year. They stayed together for more than a decade without ever marrying.
People, TMZ, Page Six and other outlets picked up a Daily Mail report on June 27, 2026 that the two had quietly parted ways in late 2025. Representatives for Cox and McDaid have not commented, and the news has come from friends and insiders rather than the couple themselves.

Sources say the breakup came down to the two growing into different lives, with the long distance between the US and UK a recurring strain. McDaid, the guitarist and songwriter for Snow Patrol, spends much of his time in the UK. Cox is based in Los Angeles.

By every account, it has stayed amicable. “Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship and they remain extremely amicable. They are great friends and care about each other very much,” a friend told the Daily Mail.
