5 Reasons It Wouldn’t Matter If West and Ciara From Summer House Never ‘Officially’ Dated

A few Summer House fans are defending West Wilson and Amanda Batula’s situationship, citing the fact that West was never “officially” dating Amanda’s friend, Ciara Miller. However, there are plenty of reasons this situationship is shady, even if Ciara and West never dated or even kissed. Here are 5 reasons why.

1) If your friend is this hung up on a guy, he’s off limits.

On the other hand, it could be completely appropriate to date a friend’s ex-husband of a decade. It depends how your friend feels about it. The rules are very simple: if you care about your friend, you don’t want to hurt them.

2) West and Amanda lied and gaslit Ciara and Kyle about their affair.

If West and Amanda were under the impression that it’s abnormal to care about your close friend sleeping with your ex, they wouldn’t have hidden their relationship from all of their friends. They would simply have casually mentioned it and then been shocked that Ciara and Kyle were upset. The fact that they hid what they were doing and lied about it for so long shows that they knew it was wrong.

Regardless, lying and gaslighting is wrong. It’s especially wrong to do it to people you are so close to.

3) West could have easily clarified things with Ciara to avoid all of this hurt.

I don’t buy that West never cared about Ciara. First of all, West himself says this isn’t true and he deeply cared/cares about her.

Second, communicating boundaries is easier (NOT HARDER) when you don’t care much about the other person. If West didn’t care about Ciara, it would have been easy for him to communicate that to her. The reason West didn’t tell Ciara he didn’t want to seriously date her is because he cared about her so much that he didn’t want to lose her. Because Ciara had clearly communicated her feelings that she only wanted to date seriously, West chose to lie to her in order to keep her around.

If West didn’t care about Ciara, he wouldn’t feel it was worth lying to keep her around.

4) West betrayed his close friend Kyle.

It’s indefensible to go after your mate’s missus just weeks after they announce they are divorcing.

The absolute best case scenario timeline-wise is that West and Amanda hooked up for the first time just WEEKS after she announced her separation from her husband, Kyle on January 19. In February, Amanda told Marie Claire that while she moved out in November, she and Kyle still thought they would reconcile up until a few days before they announced the separation. They were still committed to each other and (supposedly) monogamous during this time.

5) West was in an exclusive relationship while all of this was going down.

In a clip released from the reunion, Kyle says he has proof West has been in an exclusive relationship since February 2025. The women in question has posted about being blindsided by West’s joint statement announcing his situationship with Amanda. This is reportedly how she found out that she was not, in fact, in an exclusive relationship with West.
