Donald Trump Just Declassified Over 100 High-Security Classified Documents About UFOs and Aliens

The directive came from Trump on February 19, ordering the Secretary of War and federal agencies to identify and release files on “alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena, unidentified flying objects, and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.” Now the documents are public.

The page that launched today is run by the Department of War with support from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of War, signed off on Release 01. The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, led by Dr. Jon T. Kosloski, is the agency doing the actual document review. AARO was created at the Pentagon in 2022 specifically to track and investigate UAP encounters.

The first tranche contains 161 files, most of them archival FBI document scans with serial identifiers like 65_HS1-834228961_62-HQ-83894. Most do not have an incident date or location attached. These are older Bureau records being released, not new sightings with photos or videos. The page makes clear the focus is on “unresolved” cases, meaning encounters where the government could not reach a definitive determination, often because there wasn’t enough data at the time.

The directive on the page reads: “Under this Administration, we will pursue the truth and share our findings with the American people.” It also includes an open invitation for the private sector and the public to analyze the documents alongside the government.

Tens of millions of records are under review. Many exist only on paper. The government is calling this the start of a long campaign, with releases expected to continue every few weeks for the foreseeable future.
