A Prayer For Peace Beyond Success And Failure

By

True worth is found in our identity in God rather than success or failure, as emphasized by Karin Hadadan. Similarly, Rebecca Simon’s Finding God Every Day invites us to shift from external validation to a steady awareness of His love. Read on below.

Defining our worth by our achievements is such a familiar feeling these days; we work hard and naturally hope it will make us feel valued. But maybe it helps to gently remind ourselves that our worth was never meant to rest only on what we accomplish, but on who we are in God. Pause and pray this with me.

Dear God,

I confess that I often find my worth in accomplishments and the approval of others, allowing my value to be tethered to external factors, leaving me in a constant ebb and flow of temporary satisfaction rather than lasting joy.

Find lasting joy in your relationship with God. This book helps you recognize it.

Today I ask you to help me value my relationship with you above all achievements. Reorient my heart to find its greatest joy in belonging to you. Thank you for the eternal security and unshakable identity you’ve given me in Christ, allowing me to feel fulfilled and at peace regardless of successes or failures in this world. Help me to serve from a place of security rather than striving for significance.

Amen.
