Thank you for giving us the kind of love that doesn’t play games or manipulate or drive us crazy.

Thank you for showing us a kind of love that’s almost extinct. Thank you for showing us what truly loving someone looks like and what it feels like. Thank you for raising our standards and showing us how we should be treated and what we deserve. Thank you for showing us what appreciation, gratitude, and sharing look like. Thank you for loving us generously and wholeheartedly in a world that teaches people to love in doses.

Thank you for reminding us of our worth when we forget. Thank you for reminding us that life will always be better with someone who reciprocates our love and speaks our language. Thank you for showing us that it’s possible to have it all. That love doesn’t always hurt or end in heartbreak. Thank you for showing us that there’s always hope and we don’t ever have to settle. Thank you for teaching us how to be loved in a way we never have before. Thank you for trusting us with your heart and making us feel safe in trusting you with ours too.

Thank you for showing us the kind of love that doesn’t lie or betray or cheat or leave unexpectedly. Thank you for showing us the kind of love that stays. The kind of love that faces challenges and stands the test of time. The kind of love that goes the distance and finds solutions instead of problems. The kind of love that doesn’t give up. Thank you for showing us the difference between someone who wants us and tries everything to be with us and someone who is waiting for the other shoe to drop so they can leave.

Thank you for giving us a real-life example of maturity and loyalty. Thank you for having difficult conversations with us instead of going silent and understanding us in our darkest moments instead of judging us. Thank you for sticking around when it’s not easy and reaffirming our old-fashioned beliefs that being there for people, showing up for them and being honest will always win.

Thank you for giving us the kind of love that doesn’t play games or manipulate or drive us crazy. And thank you for reassuring us that all our trust issues and our broken pieces are nothing but old wounds because we were loved by the wrong people or people who never truly valued us. Thank you for showing us how it’s really done. Thank you for righting all their wrongs and renewing our faith in love again.
