Next Time You Start To Procrastinate Your Dreams, Read This

If you want to see your goals manifest, you can’t keep manifesting distractions.

I’ve found myself procrastinating a lot these days and struggling to stay focused. It feels like I’m giving myself a break or a reset, or at least that’s what I tell myself. Then, somehow, days go by and I still haven’t sat down to do the thing that matters. And I have to wonder why.

I sat with myself this morning to wonder why I put off doing things that are important to me. I realized that, even though something matters to me, I procrastinate because I worry about it not mattering to someone else. I worry about not being seen, so I eliminate the risk by not even stepping out into the sun.

By doing so, I am doing myself a disservice by hiding in the shadows until my ego steps aside and lets me move into the sunlight. I am stunting my own growth by removing myself from the things that I know will nurture me to grow. I am quite literally damaging my own dreams.

I can make a million excuses for myself about why I put off things that’ll make me feel like I’m on top of the world, but then I freak out, because what if someone pushes me off from that peak and I have to climb all the way up again? I think of worst case scenarios midway through the climb, and so then I pause and just let time pass me by. But this isn’t a way to live. This isn’t the way to dream.

If you want to reach the clouds, you can’t be afraid to look up at them.

If you want to see your goals manifest, you can’t keep manifesting distractions.

If you want to hold your dream in your hands, you can’t keep your hands full with excuses.

If you want to build your dream life, you can’t keep putting up walls of fear on the way.

If you want to be your best self, you can’t let your ego dictate who you think you are.

If you want to stand in the spotlight, you can’t hold yourself backstage.

If you want to live your truth, you can’t keep holding your breath.

If you want it all, you can’t keep letting yourself settle for less.

And if you really want to reach your dreams, the first thing you have to do is wake up.
